This week I tried something very much out of my comfort zone, in more ways than one! I went to a workshop on a topic I knew nothing about (and didn't even research before), in a new city I just arrived in a few days before with a bunch of people that I had never bet.
Some people might say - that isn't that bold, chill! Haha and yes perhaps my comfort zone is very different to yours! But for me, I am a creature of comfort. I like to be super comfortable in my surroundings. I even carry (very heavy) specific crystals around with me everywhere I travel to so that I can have 'comfort' around me. A totem of something I know. But I decided that I have been in hiding for 6 months and it is time to come out of my hermit stage (as we would call it in Human Design). It's time to step into my line 6 and share my knowledge & wisdom via my favourite gate - storytelling. So here I am, trying out new things & creating new stories for myself. How FUN.
So off I went (just around the corner because we can't go too far out of the comfort zone haha) and as I was walking to the workshop, I stopped and my inner voice was like 'Do you actually want to go? We don't have to do we?'. I am now going to call this voice my comfort voice. Trying to keep me comfy. I love her, she is great and keeps me safe but I am not after safety in these moments so I am learning to teach her when she needs to come out and be in my consciousness. Just like a true Projector, she must be invited on stage now. Thank you. So I said 'yes we do' and continued walking. I was doing this and i'm so glad that I did.
Again, I know these seem to be small little things to some but for me, groups and being in aura with bigger energies sometimes frightens my nervous system. I have worked on this a lot as I don't want to play it small any longer, but I hadn't really tested it until now.
From this experience I was able to witness the changes I have made. For the first time in a very long time, I felt like I belonged there. I was invited. I was recognised. I was SEEN. A big big thing for me. I am often the one sitting in the corner observing - which I LOVE to do, don't worry. But this season of my life right now I am preaching what I am practicing and it's really exhilarating. As soon as I entered the room, the teacher zoomed in on me (maybe she's a Projector 👀). Though I do find that people that are 'travellers' really want to know what the other person is up to and build connections as it can get very lonely in the travel life. Not to say people who aren't travellers don't want to get to know you, it's just a familiar vibe that I can relate to when I encounter it. It was really nice having the 1:1 before everyone arrived as it made me super comfortable and I was able to sink into my surroundings. It was a healing centre so I was already quite comfortable as soon as I walked in.
As we got into the class which was called Neurographica (I will get into the practice on another post) I felt the energy and presence of everyone around. I could sense things I wouldn't normally feel. It was a great practice for me in group settings as I much prefer 1 on 1 interactions so I can fully zoom in on you. It was nice to be recognised and asked to contribute.
What I wanted to share with you are the insights I got. What I saw. What I felt. What I recognised in this interaction. The reason I want to share this (whether it to be the truth or not) is that it is a technique I like to use to tap into my Projector aura & my intuition. I often feel into it (knowing or feel as a Clairsentience & Claircognizance). So what comes to me I don't solidify as truth, I just take it, absorb it and alchemise it. I find this often might have people walk away and go, oh I feel lighter with that interaction or I feel more clear. Like I am taking the thoughts and alchemising them. A distance type Reiki (I don't like to use 3D words but this is what I can relate it to). Sometimes we call it energy grid work, where the Universe will put us in locations where we are like WTF am I doing here, I have no idea and you may never know! But I have been guided to that this is energy grid work. Sometimes we never know the impact we have with our surroundings as it's all simply a magical experience or all.
So what did I observe for a couple of people in the group setting both by observing but actually listening to what they said as well?:
- Person A was new to any spiritual practices, they were nervous to be there and didn't fully feel comfortable in their skin. I felt ALOT of ancestral trauma here and trying to get out of the ways they had been taught. But it was engrained in them (I can heavily relate to this). So many times I wanted to reach out and hug this person. BUT I knew this was not the time nor the place so I energetically gave them a hug.
- Person B was not meant to be there. They accidentally stumbled into the class. Though I feel like they weren't really participating and doing it more the way they wanted. If this person wasn't a Manifestor (most likely ego defined) I will pay $10,000 to the next person that comments HEY haha. They had a very repelling aura & they spoke about manifestation techniques for them with a strong Willpower push haha. They also were not participating the correct way (which is totally fine, I love people who do this lol) gives me big Manifestor energy. I love me a Manifestor, you do you boo.
There were many other people in the group but these were just a couple of the observations I wanted to share.
The reason I am sharing this is to show examples of what is going through my mind while you may be speaking to me or watching me. I want to know as much about you as you are willing to share, even if it's my own observations. Then when I am invited in to share, I will. If not, the information I get is just sent into the ether. That's ok, more often than not, it's just observations that mean nothing.
You might be thinking, why would you waste your energy? This is not wasting my energy, this is exactly how my energy is intended to be utilised. It gives me great joy to understand you on a much deeper level than 'your name and what you do for a living'. I am often also incorrect with my observations, that's ok too. It's all learning and for me personally, all fun. This is what truly lights me up, it gives me joy understanding how your system works and who you are on a soul level. Not for judgment, simply for my understanding. Imagine it as if I have a bank of information on how things work and by observing I can add to it. There are no names or genders or anything in this 'bank' simply soul level knowledge that you have blessed me with.
Now I want to clarify, me zooming in isn't so I can look into your systems as I am not invited to do this. This is literally me observing what you are doing and what you are saying. I am not getting downloads for you, I am not feeling any information I am not invited to feel. More often than not, like in a cafe for example, I feel nothing. These people did not invite anybody into their fields. But going to a group workshop like this, speaking your feelings out & sharing, you are more open to energetics. You essentially are inviting feedback in some way. In an actual 1 on 1 session, I would zoom into your psyche and pull out deeper information that needs to come up in the session. This is simply an example of one way to do grid work and what info at a surface level that may be sent to you to alchemise. More often than not, we feel as if these are our own thoughts but sometimes they are so wild that you're like 'are you ok mate?'. When you tap into your intuition, we will all do this to different degrees. But because I truly enjoy this, it's something I have worked on strengthening.
What happens when you step out of your comfort zone?
Now that went a bit off track haha I wanted to include some tangible information about stepping out of your comfort zone, creating your BRAVE and how you can strengthen this part of you.
Stepping out of your comfort zone can be a daunting experience, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. When you try something new or challenging, your body, and in particular, your nervous system, responds in a variety of ways. I want to explore a little more on what happens to your body when you step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Your body goes into "fight or flight" mode: When you step out of your comfort zone, your body perceives it as a threat and triggers the "fight or flight" response. This response is a natural survival mechanism that prepares your body to either fight the threat or run away from it. As a result, your heart rate increases, your breathing becomes rapid, and your muscles tense up. To combat this, it's all about practice. The more you do it, the more it feels exhilarating rather than daunting. But these feelings are also great and should be utilised to stretch your system to new pathways.
Your brain releases neurotransmitters: When you step out of your comfort zone, your brain releases neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. These chemicals are responsible for regulating your mood, motivation, and attention. They also play a crucial role in learning and memory, which is why trying new things can be such a powerful way to expand your horizons. What a wonderful activation for your body! Our body loves these things. The more we do it, the less these may become active to practice finding small ways to activate this slowly and steadily.
You experience increased stress: When you step out of your comfort zone, you may experience increased stress levels. This stress can manifest in a variety of ways, including anxiety, nervousness, and even physical symptoms such as sweating or trembling. However, it's important to remember that a moderate amount of stress can be beneficial, as it can help you stay focused and motivated. Use that stress to guide your system into what is good & bad for you. If your stress levels are so overwhelming perhaps you are simply not ready? Use the stress level as a guide. If it's a comfortable stress, utilise it, if it's sending you over the edge, try to ground yourself first before going all in.
You build resilience: When you step out of your comfort zone and face challenges, you build resilience. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and persevere in the face of challenges. By trying new things and facing your fears, you strengthen your ability to adapt to new situations and overcome obstacles. What a wonderful thing to feel into your SUCCESS. Whatever that feels like for you. We weren't meant to come here to face adversity 24/7 but without the lows, there cannot be the highs. Take what you can from the situation and let it guide you back to you.
Trying something new or challenging can have a profound impact on your body, in particular, your nervous system. While it can be uncomfortable and even scary at times, stepping out of your comfort zone can also be incredibly empowering and transformative. So the next time you're faced with a new opportunity, take a deep breath and embrace the challenge – your body will thank you for it.
